Kotel Joins the Apple Age

Western Wall Heritage Center officially released an IPhone app on December 23rd that brings the Western Wall with you where ever you go. The live-streamed app shows you actual footage of the Kotel 24 hours a day. The app also allows the user to send in emails that will be directly placed into the cracks of the wall, a long time tradition of prayer. On top of all that, the WWHC provides in depth tours through the Kotel Tunnels. The application is offered in both English and Russian along with the native language, Hebrew. An interview with Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitz said, “So it's natural that in this technological age, there are ways to express the love and dedication of Jews to the Western Wall and to Jerusalem.” He also mentioned that the release of the application could provide easy access to Jewish history to the younglings all over the world. The application is available on ITunes for free. (Jerusalem Post)
